Learning to play basketball requires a lot of hard work. One of the most fundamental skills a player must master is dribbling. Dribbling is the act of continuously bouncing the ball with one hand in a repetitive motion. The dribble ends when the player touches the ball with both hands simultaneously, allows the ball to rest in their hands, or moves the ball parallel or fractionally along the court using one hand. To maintain a legal dribble, the ball must be continuously redirected to the floor.

Use the finger pads – The padded part of the fingers should be used to control the basketball, while using the palms should be avoided.
