🏀 Basketball: The Object of the Game

Basketball is a fast-paced, highly competitive sport played on a 94-by-50-foot court (NBA size) with one basket on each side. The goal is simplescore more points than your opponent before the game ends.

⛹️‍♂️ How the Game Starts

The game begins with a tip-off, where the referee tosses the ball into the air at center court. Two players (one from each team) jump to tip the ball to their teammates, aiming for the first possession.

⏳ Game Duration & Shot Clock

🔹 Professional basketball (NBA) is divided into four 12-minute quarters.
🔹 College basketball has two 20-minute halves.
🔹 Each offensive possession is limited by a shot clock:

  • NBA: 24 seconds
  • College: 35 seconds

If the team fails to take a shot within the shot clock time, they lose possession.
